Hello! I'm Rachel, a certified fear-free, positive reinforcement dog trainer in Brooklyn, NY! I have trained hundreds of dogs since 2023, primarily helping dogs transition from shelter life, to foster home, to their forever families! I currently consult on behavior and training for the foster dogs at Every Last One Rescue in NYC.
As a current Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional student, I use science-based methods rooted in classical and operant conditioning to help dogs and the people who love them build stronger relationships and live fulfilled, enriched lives together.
My dog Max was the original goofy dog. He inspired my passion to help other humans and dogs unlock their potential and best relationship with their dog.
When Max came into my life, he struggled with anxiety, hyperarousal, and overexcitement. Like many dog guardians, I initially focused on obedience and control, believing that was the key to a well-behaved dog. As I learned more about behavior and learning theory, our training evolved into something much more meaningful: a relationship built on trust, communication, and understanding.
That shift unlocked the goofiest, sweetest, most affectionate best friend I could have asked for.
Max taught me that training is about far more than teaching commands. When we support a dog's emotional well-being, meet their needs, and help them develop the skills to succeed, we create dogs who want to engage with us, not because they have to, but because they enjoy it. That philosophy is at the heart of every session I teach.
My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and skills to support your dog while keeping their well-being at the forefront. Together, we'll build a stronger relationship, improve communication, and create lasting behavior change that helps both you and your dog thrive.
